Targeted Mat-Only Core Workout with LIV Body Athlete Jordan Edwards

LIV Body | Jordan Edwards Mat-Only Core Workout

One of the best ways to begin your day is with a killer ab routine. Why? Working your core first thing in the morning will keep them engaged throughout the rest of the day. This will not only help you achieve a flatter stomach but it will also help alleviate some back issues. Having a stronger core will usually result in a stronger back as well. To top it off, you’ll find your posture will be better too. Remember to keep your core engaged throughout the day for maximum results.

LIV Body Athlete and Ab Queen Jordan Edwards has a new Mat-Only Core Workout. This one is especially going to kill your entire core. All five of these exercises will specifically target every abdominal muscle.

A few good tips to keep in mind while you’re pushing through this workout:

  • The 1st step to any kind of exercise starts with mental state. It is important to remember that you exercise, not to torture yourself, but to make yourself feel good.
  • Slow and steady wins the race. Take your time with each exercise and make sure your form is correct and your core is engaged!
  • Remember to intensify the exercise by pausing at the top and engaging your core for a second or two.
  • Breathing through it. Yes, do not forget to breathe!

For each of these exercises, we’re going to be doing 25 reps back to back all the way through. Then, we will take a 1 minute break and repeat the entire workout 3 times. You ready? Let’s go!

FEATURED WORKOUT ROUTINE

PLANK HIP TWISTS: Hollow out your lower abdominals and keep your legs engaged throughout the entire set.

PULSE HOLDS: Keep your chin tucked so you don’t strain your neck.

BENT KNEE CRUNCHES (SLOW AND STEADY): Pace yourself and feel every single crunch.

REACH THROUGH SIT UPS (SLOW AND STEADY): Again, it’s not about the speed but the form so keep a steady pace.

SCISSOR CRUNCHES (KEEP LEGS STRAIGHT): Don’t point your toes.

All done?

Stretch out those abs: Lay down, tuck your knees, and roll left to right
